The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises has obtained certification for the Information Security Management System (ISMS) for the Yellow Umbrella, a public pension system for small enterprises and small business owners. The plan is to protect customer information and accelerate digital transformation.
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises noted on the 15th that it obtained certification for the Information Security Management System (ISMS) for the Yellow Umbrella from the Korea Internet & Security Agency on Mar. 19, 2025.
ISMS certification is the highest level of information security certification granted by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), which is under the Ministry of Science and ICT. It is granted after a rigorous review of whether corporations or public institutions have established and operated information security management systems.
Kim Ki-moon, chairman of KBIZ, said, "This year, we will start with the Yellow Umbrella ISMS certification as the first year of financial IT transformation, enhancing IT services for the mutual aid business to increase the trust of 3 million customers." He continued, "To achieve this, we will establish a Digital Innovation Headquarters to significantly strengthen the financial IT functions of the Yellow Umbrella and actively promote the digital transformation of small enterprises and cooperatives."
Meanwhile, the Yellow Umbrella is a mutual aid system managed by KBIZ and supervised by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to provide funds for stabilizing the lives and business recovery of small enterprises and small business owners. As of the end of March, the cumulative number of members of the Yellow Umbrella has reached 3 million, and total contributions have surpassed 29 trillion won.
