Hanjin Logistics recorded an operating profit of 26.2 billion won in the first quarter of this year, a 12% increase compared to the same period last year, the company announced on the 14th. During the same period, sales amounted to 728 billion won, up 2.2%.
Hanjin Logistics explained that the increase in operating profit this quarter was due to the improvement in performance in the parcel and global businesses. In the first quarter, the global business recorded growth based on an increase in e-commerce revenue and the attraction of new forwarding clients.
The parcel business has become capable of generating medium- to long-term profits due to operational efficiency centered around the Daejeon Mega Hub, and the increase in cargo volume at the Busan New Port and Ulsan Port terminals also contributed to the overall increase in sales and operating profit for the logistics business.
A representative from Hanjin Logistics noted, "We will work on acquiring new clients, improving revenue, and implementing ESG management, and we plan to establish a solid foundation for sustainable growth even under rapidly changing domestic and international conditions."
