It has been confirmed that Korean Air pilots engaged in a verbal dispute over the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, which escalated into a fistfight.
According to the aviation industry on the 7th, the captain and co-pilot of a Korean Air flight from Incheon to Brisbane, Australia, physically assaulted each other at a hotel in Australia due to differing political views. They were reportedly discussing former President Yoon's declaration of a state of emergency on December 3 and the impeachment proceedings.
Following the assault, the captain was transported to a nearby hospital, and the co-pilot also sustained injuries. Korean Air replaced them with alternative personnel, and the return flight operated normally.
Korean Air stated, “An unfortunate incident occurred at the hotel where they were staying, but it did not affect the operations,” adding, “We have reiterated company guidelines and conducted internal training to prevent recurrence.”
