Hyundai Motor's luxury brand Genesis unveiled two concept models for the first time at the Seoul Mobility Show on the 3rd.
At the press day event of the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, Genesis showcased two-door concept models including the 'X (X) Gran Coupe Concept' and the 'X Gran Convertible Concept.' Genesis explained that this model embodies the new luxury design direction based on the design assets accumulated since its launch in 2015.
It was produced based on Genesis's design philosophy of 'dynamic elegance.' The front section reinterprets Genesis's symbol, the 'two-line graphic,' and features a low-slung roofline and smooth silhouette, embodying both the presence and artistry of a flagship model. The convertible model extends the beltline to the rear, separating the soft-top roof from the body.
The exterior of the X Gran Coupe and convertible features colors inspired by the nature of the Mediterranean, tailored to each concept. The coupe adopts a deep green inspired by olive trees, while the convertible is in a rich burgundy color inspired by Italy's fine wines.
Genesis applied natural leather in a combination of olive green and cognac color to the coupe's interior. It is said that waste water generated after refining olive oil has harmful components. The convertible is filled with blue natural leather reminiscent of grapes used for fine wine, and Genesis added luxury with eucalyptus wood that has a distinctive luster.
Yoon Il-hun, head of the Genesis Design Center (executive director), noted, "We wanted to showcase a new form of a flagship tailored to the diverse tastes and lifestyles of customers through the two models." He added, "Both models, which originated from different inspirations, clearly demonstrate the identity of Genesis."
Genesis also exhibited the design of the 'GMR-001 Hypercar,' which integrates high-performance technology, for the first time in the country at the Seoul Mobility Show on this day. The GMR-001 Hypercar is inspired by the high-performance program 'Genesis Magma.' It emphasizes agile vehicle performance through its unique black color finish and high-quality design.
Genesis plans to participate with two vehicles in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) starting next year, and in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (WTSCC) in 2027. It also revealed plans to actively develop engines and vehicles for motorsports under the philosophy of 'HyperSpeed.'
Genesis will showcase a total of nine vehicles, including the GV60 facelift model and the G90, in an exhibition space of 1,200 square meters (about 363 pyeong) at this Seoul Mobility Show, which runs until the 13th.
Song Min-kyu, head of the Genesis Business Division (vice president), said, "We plan to take this Seoul Mobility Show as a new starting point to present a variety of models that embody the high-performance technology and future luxury design directions that Genesis pursues."
