On the 11th, the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises held a meeting at KBIZ in Yeouido, Seoul, with the 'Democratic Party of Korea's Commissioner of the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee and the Commissioner of the Strategy and Finance Committee to convey the demands of the small and medium business sector.'

Kim Ki-moon, the chairman of KBIZ, said, 'I hope the introduction of the cooperative request rights for small and medium enterprises passes in the 22nd National Assembly,' and noted, 'I wish for thorough examination and measures for improvement on the issues of the 52-hour workweek and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, which are most problematic for small businesses on the ground.'

The chairman continued to present major issues such as the introduction of the small and medium enterprise coexistence finance index, the establishment of specialized T-commerce channels for small businesses and micro-enterprises, the enactment of the special law on corporate succession for small and medium enterprises, and the expansion of the application target for the supply price linkage system.

Lawmaker Kim Kyo-heung said, 'The complaints about the corporate environment being tougher than during the IMF are emerging here and there,' and added, 'Reviving and nurturing small businesses will open a passage for the stagnant Korean economy.'
