The Korea Startup Promotion Agency announced on the 27th that Yoo Jong-pil, former head of Gwanak District, will take office as the 6th president.
The inauguration ceremony will be held on the 28th at the headquarters of the Korea Startup Promotion Agency in Sejong. The term is three years.
President Yoo said, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility and mission as I will lead the Korea Startup Promotion Agency, which is a credit entry for innovation and job creation," and "I will work to complete the government’s startup policies through a leap forward as a field-centered policy execution agency."
Yoo served as a secretary to the president's office, director of the National Assembly Library, and from 2010 for eight years, he was the head of Gwanak District in Seoul.
The Korea Startup Promotion Agency is promoting various projects to create a startup ecosystem, including supporting startup policy research commercialization and expanding the base as a specialized startup promotion organization.
