KG Mobility (hereafter KGM) announced that it will begin pre-orders for the "MUSSO EV" starting February 25 ahead of its launch next month.
The "MUSSO EV" is an urban electric pickup that combines the foundation of a traditional SUV with pickup styling, featuring ample cargo space and a quiet ride, making it convenient for everyday life as well as recreational activities.
The exterior design harmoniously implements the unique strengths of a pickup and the smart image of an electric vehicle based on the convenient yet robust "Handy & Tough" concept. The deck and body form a single unit to emphasize robustness, while details such as the grille are designed simply and cleanly. In addition, the distinctive C-pillar garnish adds a unique sense.
The interior offers a maximum payload capacity of 500kg, allowing for ample space for various recreational gear while maintaining a spacious interior equivalent to a mid-sized SUV. It maximizes passenger convenience with generous second-row space, including the same level of couple distance as domestic SUV models (the distance from the front seat to the rear seat hip point is 850mm), a sliding second row, 32-degree reclining seats, and second-row headroom (1,002mm).
The vehicle is equipped with an 80.6kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade battery that has low fire risk and excellent durability, enabling a range of 401km on a single charge (based on 2WD). Additionally, it features a 152.2kW front-wheel drive motor that provides a pleasant driving environment with quiet NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) compared to internal combustion engine pickups.
To enhance the vehicle's fire safety, KGM has developed a system that automatically checks the battery status every 10 minutes while parked, and it also manages battery voltage and temperature comprehensively during charging, applying a dual or triple safety management system. KGM offers the longest warranty period in the country of 10 years/1 million km as well as a reassurance guarantee program that compensates up to 500 million won in case of fire due to the electric vehicle battery.
Key specifications of the "MUSSO EV" include a utility roof rack, natural leather seats, Alpine audio system, intelligent adaptive cruise control, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and an exterior V2L connector, and it is possible to apply common options such as a sunroof, all-wheel drive (AWD), self-levelizer, and 3D around-view monitoring system.
Customization can be achieved through various configurations such as the style-up package (deck roll bar, roof flat carrier), clean deck package (sliding cover, deck divider), and outdoor package (roof crossbar, deck storage box) to create unique styling according to lifestyle.
The sale price is 48 million won for the STD and 50.5 million won for the DLX. Classified as an eco-friendly (electric) cargo vehicle, the actual purchase price can be as low as the 30 million won range, which is the most reasonable price among mid-sized electric vehicles when purchasing subsidies are applied, and small business owners can benefit from additional support for even more economical purchases. Based on the economic and eco-friendly nature of electric vehicles, fuel costs will amount to only about 6 million won after five years of operation, and various benefits such as discounts on highway tolls can be received, providing significant savings on maintenance costs.
