Doosan Enerbility's generator equipment subsidiary, Doosan Skoda Power, was listed on the Prague Stock Exchange on the 6th (local time).
Doosan Skoda Power held a listing ceremony that day at the Prague Stock Exchange. Attendees included Sang-hyun Park, president of Doosan Enerbility, Young-gi Lim, director of Doosan Skoda Power, Petr Koblic, CEO of the Prague Stock Exchange, and Yong-ki Hong, ambassador to the Czech Republic.
The offering price of Doosan Skoda Power was confirmed at 14,400 won based on Hanwha. Through this initial public offering (IPO), it raised 151.6 billion won.
Doosan acquired the Czech turbine manufacturer Skoda Power in 2009 and changed its name to Doosan Skoda Power. Doosan Skoda Power has supplied more than 540 steam turbines in Europe, and it is expected to play a role in targeting the European nuclear power market.
Doosan Skoda Power and Doosan Enerbility plan to use the funds raised from the IPO for research and development (R&D) to secure growth momentum. Doosan Skoda Power will invest in production facility improvements and R&D, while Doosan Enerbility will focus on the development of nuclear and small modular reactor (SMR) technology and the expansion of gas turbine facilities.
Sang-hyun Park, president of Doosan Enerbility, rang the bell to announce the stock market listing and said in his speech, “In the Czech Republic, a power country possessing steam turbine original technology, Skoda Power and Doosan have worked together as Doosan Skoda Power for 16 years and contributed to Team Korea being selected as the preferred negotiator for the new nuclear power plant in Dukovany last year.” He added, “Doosan Enerbility will support Doosan Skoda Power in becoming a leader in the European power industry as well as in the Czech Republic.”
