Even Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities, who evaluates Tesla (TSLA) most optimistically on Wall Street in the United States, has criticized Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, for his political activities.
According to the financial investment industry on the 9th, Ives suggested three things to the Tesla board via social media platform X: ▲Guarantee 25% of voting rights for Musk and pave the way for a merger with the artificial intelligence startup xAI established by Musk ▲Establish safety measures related to the time Musk should dedicate to Tesla ▲Supervise Musk's political activities.
Ives also released a report titled 'The Tesla board must establish principles for Musk.' He noted that Musk's deeper involvement in politics is contrary to what Tesla shareholders desire.
In response to Ives's suggestions, Musk wrote on X, 'Shut up, Dan.' It appears he has no intention of halting his political activities.
Ives is a prominent analyst who evaluates Tesla positively. He has set a target price of $500 for Tesla, the highest among 47 institutions that have expressed investment opinions on the company.
The reason even Ives has expressed concerns is that Musk's deeper involvement in politics, rather than management activities, is negatively affecting Tesla's stock price, which has fallen over 20% this year to below $300.
Investor concerns have intensified, especially after Musk announced plans to form a new political party called the 'America Party.' Investment bank William Blair downgraded its investment opinion on Tesla from 'buy' to 'hold' due to a reduction in electric vehicle tax benefits and Musk's political participation. Investment firm Azoria Partners also delayed the launch of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) investing in Tesla stocks and options.
The sighs of overseas individual investors, known as 'Seohakgaemi,' are also deepening. Tesla is the most purchased overseas stock by domestic investors. According to the Korea Securities Depository, as of the 7th, the total amount of Tesla holdings reached $19.61425 billion (approximately 27 trillion won).
