SK oceanplant began the day with a strong performance on the 1st. This came after news of a large-scale contract to supply structures to the Anma offshore wind farm and expectations that full-scale global orders will commence.
As of 9:13 a.m. on that day, SK oceanplant was trading at 19,740 won, up 640 won (3.35%) from the previous trading day. It started the day with an 8.64% rise, but the increase has begun to taper off.
SK oceanplant announced it won a contract to supply substructures to the domestic Anma offshore wind farm on the 30th of last month. The contract amount is 383.4 billion won, representing about 57.9% of sales. Actual sales are expected to start from next year.
Analysts in the securities industry suggest that with the start of a full-fledged offshore wind order cycle this year, SK oceanplant will benefit. There are also expectations that achieving SK oceanplant's target order size of 1 trillion won is not out of reach.
Kim Jin-hyung, a researcher at DS Investment & Securities, noted, “This year we are planning orders not only domestically but also overseas,” adding, “Especially, Taiwan abolished its domestic preferential policy last year.”
