Shinhan Bank announced on the 22nd that its 'Shinhan SOL Travel Check Card' has surpassed a cumulative usage amount of 3 trillion won in Korea and abroad just 1 year and 3 months after its launch. Shinhan Bank explained that it received a great response for being the first in Korea to offer an account structure that provides interest on the balance of a travel card.
The Shinhan SOL Travel Check Card is a travel-specific card that encompasses all financial services needed during overseas travel. It offers benefits such as preferred exchange rates for 42 types of currency worldwide, exemption from overseas ATM fees, access to airport lounge benefits, a 5% discount at the four major convenience stores in Korea, and discounts on domestic public transportation. In April, the card's usage accounted for 38% of the entire travel-specific card market, achieving the top position in Korea.
Starting from the 30th, Shinhan Bank will introduce the 'Shinhan SOL Travel Card Kiosk Instant Issuance' service. After applying for the card through the Shinhan SOL Bank app, customers can receive a physical card on the same day via a digital kiosk. This service will be pilot-operated at Seoul Station and Gimpo Airport before being expanded.
