The Financial Services Commission is confirmed to be conducting an internal investigation regarding the leak of a classified report for the National Planning Committee. The report contains details about President Lee Jae-myung's election pledge related to 'corona debt forgiveness' and debt adjustment measures. The Financial Services Commission is also reported to be considering filing a complaint with the police.

According to the financial sector on the 19th, the Financial Services Commission has initiated an internal investigation into the leak of the report. A representative from the Financial Services Commission noted, “We are in the process of identifying the leak's path, and after confirming the facts, appropriate measures will be taken according to internal regulations.”

The 32-page report from the Financial Services Commission spread through social media platforms such as KakaoTalk on the 17th. This report was prepared for the National Planning Committee meeting held that morning, detailing the Lee Jae-myung government's major pledge implementation plans and key policy tasks. The first page also states 'foreign policy.' The entire classified document was leaked, raising questions about the adequacy of the Financial Services Commission's security measures.

It has been confirmed that the leaked report is not the final version. The Financial Services Commission stated, “The contents recorded in the leaked report are not the final draft.” The Financial Services Commission said it would take action according to procedures after determining the facts. Leaking classified information is a violation of public service regulations and could be grounds for disciplinary action.

As leaks of information have increased, the National Planning Committee has reportedly urged government departments to pay special attention to security. On the 16th, a detailed plan for living assistance funds drafted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety was leaked to the outside. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety is also conducting an internal inspection.
