On the 18th, Kakao Pay and Jeju Air held a signing ceremony at the Jeju Air office in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and signed a business agreement to enhance the convenience of airline payments and provide differentiated benefits to users.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kakao Pay CEO Shin Won-geun and Jeju Air CEO Kim Yi-bae, along with key executives from both companies.
According to the agreement, both companies decided to expand Kakao Pay's mobile payment service on Jeju Air's online and offline channels to enhance the convenience of purchasing airline tickets, while also promoting cooperative projects such as data-driven joint marketing to broaden the scope of benefits throughout the travel experience from ticket reservation to local arrival.
Joint research and improvements on the payment system and other long-term cooperative projects are expected to be gradually pursued.
Kakao Pay CEO Shin Won-geun noted, "As travel demand rapidly expands every year, we expect this strategic partnership with the country's top LCC to further innovate the user experience for travelers," adding, "We will continuously discover unique collaboration cases exclusive to both companies, such as differentiated user benefits."
