MERITZ Securities, which is strengthening its investment banking (IB) business, will make its first investment in a domestic private equity fund (PEF).

According to the financial investment industry on the 11th, MERITZ Securities signed an agreement to invest 15 billion won in the Glenwood Private Equity (PE) Fund No. 3. This is the first time that MERITZ Securities has invested in a domestic PEF.

The industry outlook suggests that MERITZ Securities is expected to actively expand its IB business following this PEF investment. Earlier, MERITZ Securities recruited Jung Young-chae, the former president of NH Investment & Securities, who is regarded as a leading figure in the IB industry, as a senior advisor.
