The Korea Exchange announced on the 9th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Credit Guarantee Fund regarding specialized evaluations for technology-based listings on the KOSDAQ market.
The two organizations have agreed to establish a cooperative relationship regarding the specialized evaluation work to enable outstanding technology corporations to be listed on the KOSDAQ market.
Specialized evaluation is a preliminary step for technology-based listings. Corporations can apply for a technology-based listing if the evaluation grade of the specialized evaluation agency is at least A or BBB.
The number of corporations requesting specialized evaluations has increased from 52 in 2020 to 93 last year, continuing an upward trend since the system was introduced in 2005.
Through this agreement, the Korea Exchange has secured 26 specialized evaluation agencies to perform the specialized evaluations.
Min Kyung-wook, vice chairman of the Korea Exchange (head of the KOSDAQ market), said, “In line with the trend of technological advancement, we will continue to expand specialized evaluation agencies to enhance the thoroughness of technology evaluations and ensure outstanding technology corporations can access the capital market.”
