Toss Securities announced on the 28th that it offers a 'real-time translation service for overseas corporations earnings calls' based on its self-developed artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Earnings calls are sessions where management of corporations directly explains the company's performance and outlook to analysts and investors and engages in a question-and-answer session. They provide important investment information for overseas stock investors, as they offer insights that are not included in performance data, such as forecasts and strategies. However, they have been a high barrier to entry for individual investors since they are only available in English according to local time.
By using the real-time translation service for overseas corporations earnings calls, users can understand the content through Korean translations provided in real-time while listening to the earnings call live. After the earnings call ends, the major analyzed details can also be confirmed immediately. Toss Securities noted that providing real-time streaming of earnings calls along with Korean translations is the first among domestic securities firms.
Toss Securities developed a real-time translation model specialized for earnings calls by learning and analyzing more than 40,000 earnings calls for this service. Additionally, it enhanced the reliability and quality of translations through a post-processing module that verifies and corrects numerical values and technical terms. It offers a background playback function, allowing users to check charts, quotes, and related information while listening to the earnings call, and to execute transactions of the stocks as well. Users can also see emojis displayed with the real-time translated content, enabling them to observe the reactions of other customers listening to the earnings call. A representative from Toss Securities said, 'Since the official opening earlier this month, the number of service users has exceeded an average of 150,000 per week,' and emphasized, 'We will continuously think about what customers need and solve their problems with technology to create differentiated services.'
Toss Securities will provide live streaming and real-time translations for more than 650 earnings calls this quarter. It plans to gradually expand the service scope to include major meetings in the United States, which are of high interest to overseas stock investors, through service enhancements.
