As of this year, applications for the second round of the certified public accountant exam have closed, with a total of 4,440 applicants. In this year's second round exam, 1,200 final candidates will be selected.
The Financial Supervisory Service reported on the 21st that the competition ratio for this year's second certified public accountant exam is 3.7 to 1, similar to last year's level.
By gender, males accounted for 61%, while females made up 39%. However, the proportion of female candidates has steadily increased each year. Female candidates were 31% in 2021, 33.3% in 2022, 36.4% in 2023, and 38% in 2024.
By age group, those in their late 20s represented 57.1%, and those in their 20s overall accounted for 24.9%. The average age of all candidates is 27.5 years.
50.9% of the candidates were currently enrolled in university, with those majoring in business and economics making up 72.6%.
A total of 4,567 candidates are expected to take the second exam, including 1,480 individuals who deferred the exam for one year after passing the first exam last year. The second exam will take place over two days from the 28th to the 29th of next month, with the announcement of successful candidates scheduled for September 5.
