The stock price of semiconductor-related companies, including SK hynix, is showing an upward trend at the beginning of the market on the 20th. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, emphasized the expansion of the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, leading to improved buying sentiment for relevant stocks.
As of 10:13 a.m. on the 20th, SK hynix shares are trading at 204,500 won, up 5,100 won (2.56%) compared to the previous trading day on the Korea Exchange. After dropping more than 3% the previous day to stay in the 190,000 won range, the stock price successfully rebounded and reached "200,000-nix."
Samsung Electronics and HANMI Semiconductor, both considered related stocks, are also experiencing an upward trend.
CEO Huang defined NVIDIA as an "AI infrastructure corporation" during his keynote speech at Computex 2025 in Taiwan the previous day, expressing his intention to make Taiwan a self-sufficient AI powerhouse centered around NVIDIA. It is interpreted that all AI-related functions, including semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, server, and integration, will be performed locally in Taiwan.
As NVIDIA is expected to embark on building its own AI ecosystem in Taiwan, expectations are growing that this could present opportunities for the domestic semiconductor industry, which may supply customized products like HBM to NVIDIA.
