Korea Investment & Securities announced on the 19th that it will newly list 193 types of equity-linked warrants (ELWs).
The listed items include 60 types of index ELWs with KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 as underlying assets, and 133 types of item ELWs with Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Hanwha Ocean, and Rainbow Robotics as underlying assets.
ELWs are products that trade rights to buy or sell individual stocks or stock indices at a predetermined price on the expiration date. By anticipating an increase in the underlying asset, purchasing call ELWs, or anticipating a decrease, purchasing put ELWs allows for revenue independent of market conditions. Conversely, if the price of the underlying asset does not move in the initially expected direction, losses may occur up to 100% of the principal amount at expiration.
On the other hand, undertaking ELW transactions requires investment propensity assessment and completion of prior investor education. For new clients, a minimum basic deposit of 15 million won must be met. More detailed information can be found on the Korea Investment & Securities ELW dedicated website and Kakao channel "TRUE ELW."
