Korea Venture Investment Corp. announced on the 2nd that it has appointed Lee Dae-hee, the former Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination of the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups, as its new CEO.
The new CEO previously served as the Director General of the Economic Structure Reform Bureau at the Ministry of Economy and Finance after passing the 37th National Civil Service Examination. He has also held positions as the Director of the Small Business Policy Office and the Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Policy Office, as well as the Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination.
The new CEO said, “I will strive to ensure that the venture ecosystem in South Korea can be upgraded more innovatively based on the experience, expertise, and network I have accumulated as a bureaucrat.”
Korea Venture Investment Corp. is a public institution under the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups that operates a fund of 10.8 trillion won.
Korea Venture Investment Corp. had remained without a leader for over 17 months after its former CEO, Yoo Woong-hwan, resigned in November 2023. The corporation attempted to publicly recruit a new CEO in August of last year, but the appointment ultimately fell through.
Meanwhile, the term of the new CEO is three years.
