Mirae Asset Capital will acquire 100 billion won worth of common shares of Mirae Asset Securities.
After the regular market closes on the 30th, Mirae Asset Capital announced that it plans to purchase about 10.52 million shares of Mirae Asset Securities. The investment amount is expected to be around 100 billion won, calculated based on the average stock price of 9,500 won per share over the previous month.
Mirae Asset Capital plans to conduct partitioning purchases on the market from the 2nd of next month until July 31 for approximately three months.
Through this acquisition, Mirae Asset Capital's equity stake in Mirae Asset Securities will expand from 32.05% to approximately 33.90%, an increase of 1.85 percentage points. Mirae Asset Capital noted that the purpose of this investment is to strengthen its 'dominance.'
A representative from Mirae Asset Capital said, "The strengthening of fundamental factors, such as the potential increase in the performance of Mirae Asset Securities' overseas entities, proactive shareholder return policies, and its unique global asset allocation strategy and pension competitiveness, is underway," adding that the decision to purchase shares was made to secure additional voting rights and strengthen its dominance as the largest shareholder.
