Woori Financial Group strengthens the collaboration system between Woori Bank and Woori Investment & Securities to enhance the competitiveness of the institutional sector (CIB) business.
Woori Bank announced on the 28th that it appointed Deputy Governor Lee Myung-su, who is in charge of the investment banking (IB) group, as the head of the CIB synergy division at Woori Investment & Securities.
Woori Investment & Securities will establish the CIB Synergy Business Division and the CIB Synergy Promotion Department under it. The newly established organization will be responsible for CIB synergy and collaboration planning, and supporting the business development of the alternative investment division and capital markets division. Through close cooperation with the bank, it is expected to jointly discover various business opportunities, particularly planning to establish collaboration models in key areas such as acquisition finance, real estate project financing (PF), infrastructure finance, and global co-investment to expand synergies.
A Woori Financial representative noted, "This is a strategic measure to diversify the revenue base of the entire group and strengthen market responsiveness." He continued, "Strengthening the CIB synergy measure is an expression of our will to break down boundaries between affiliates and consolidate capabilities to lead the investment finance market," adding, "We will continue to expand synergy creation in various fields within the group to solidify our position as a comprehensive financial group."
