After more than seven months since the investigation into the stock price manipulation allegations against SAMBU Construction began, financial authorities are expected to take action. The most likely course of action is to report the stock price manipulation allegations against SAMBU Construction to prosecutors.

According to financial authorities on the 23rd, the Securities and Futures Commission, under the Financial Services Commission, convened a regular meeting that afternoon and decided to present a proposal to report key players involved in the stock price manipulation allegations against SAMBU Construction to prosecutors.

The Financial Supervisory Service has been investigating allegations against SAMBU Construction since receiving a psychological report from the Korea Exchange in September last year. SAMBU Construction's stock price surged after being classified as a reconstruction stock following its attendance at a Ukraine reconstruction forum held in Poland in May 2023. The stock price, which was in the 1,000 won range, rose more than five times to the 5,500 won range during trading in July of the same year.

Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Bok-hyun noted last month regarding the allegations against SAMBU Construction that "it is difficult to deny that some stakeholders realized profits exceeding 10 billion won."

The Financial Supervisory Service has been tracking whether the 10 billion won profits of stakeholders, including major shareholders of SAMBU Construction, flowed to Lee Jong-ho, former CEO of Black Pearl Investment. Lee is a key figure in the Deutsch Motors controversy.

Governor Lee has consistently indicated a willingness to wrap up the investigation into the SAMBU Construction allegations within this month. He also stated that while no connections between first lady Kim Keon-hee and former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong have been confirmed, they are analyzing the associations of relevant individuals.

On the 2nd, Governor Lee appeared on the radio and, in response to a question about whether there is any connection between the SAMBU Construction allegations and first lady Kim Keon-hee, he answered, "I am trying to look into everything that can be examined according to the procedures."
