The number of insurance claims filed with insurers due to major wildfires in Gyeongbuk Uiseong and South Gyeongsang Province Sancheong is approaching 5,000.

According to data received by Lee Jeong-moon, a member of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee from the Democratic Party, from the Financial Supervisory Service and others on the 13th, as of 4th, there were 4,896 claims related to wildfire damage filed with insurers.

The institutional sector with the highest number of claims is for crop damages, with 3,138 claims. Fires accounted for 1,135 claims, automobiles for 238 claims, properties for 343 claims, livestock damages for 24 claims, injuries for 14 claims, and death benefit claims for 4 claims.

The actual number of insurance payments made included 16 cases for automobile damages (59.35 million won), 11 cases for injuries (2.86 million won), 3 cases for death benefits (120 million won), 1 case for livestock damages (4.67 million won), and 1 case for property damage (1.51 million won).

The number of insurance payments made for crop damage is 31. It is expected that assessing damage for crop-related claims will take time, causing delays in payment.
