The Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) experienced a computer failure, causing guarantee-related operations to be suspended for 8 hours at bank branches nationwide.
According to the financial sector on the 31st, the HUG computer failure occurred, and for nearly 8 hours, from around 9 a.m. to 4:50 p.m., HUG guarantee operations, including dwelling purchase loan guarantees and Jeonse loan guarantees, were not conducted at bank branches. Customers visiting bank branches experienced inconvenience due to the HUG computer failure on that day. Previously, in August 2023, bank guarantee operations were also halted for about 4 hours due to a HUG computer failure.
A representative from a commercial bank noted, "The restoration has been completed, and operations are back to normal."
