The Apple Pay registration screen within the Shinhan Card mobile application (app) 'Shinhan SOL Pay' has been exposed. With Shinhan Card reportedly providing Apple Pay services this month, it appears to have entered the final stages of service preparation.

On the 13th, links to the Apple Pay registration page within the SOL Pay app were shared on online communities. This is believed to be a preparatory version of the page for Shinhan Card customers to register their cards for Apple Pay. When accessing the SOL Pay app through the provided link, users are directed to a page where the phrase 'I will add this card to Apple Pay' appears at the top, and the phrase 'No cards available to add' appears in the center.

If users touch the phrase 'If you do not see your card?' located in the center of the page, a popup is triggered, providing guidance on the list of cards that can be added to Apple Pay. However, the actual list of cards for Apple Pay registration is not yet visible in this popup.

Selecting the tab 'Apply for a new card available for Apple Pay' located at the very bottom of the screen leads to the new card application service embedded within the SOL Pay app. This new card application service is not a new service; it is connected to the page that users could access previously when applying for card issuance within SOL Pay.

The page can currently only be accessed via deep link. A deep link is a technology used to connect directly to specific content within an app. It is not possible to access Apple Pay-related pages through regular SOL Pay app access or search.

This is the first time that a concrete service page such as Apple Pay registration within the SOL Pay app has been exposed, going beyond simple announcement text displays. Earlier this month, during the SOL Pay app operation process, an announcement appeared stating, 'Try using Apple Pay with Shinhan Card.'

With this page exposure within the SOL Pay app, there are predictions that Shinhan Card's Apple Pay service provision is imminent. Shinhan Card is reportedly preparing to introduce Apple Pay services. Expectations within the card industry suggest that Shinhan Card's Apple Pay service may be unveiled as early as this month.

A Shinhan Card official stated regarding the exposure of the page within the SOL Pay app and the introduction of Apple Pay, 'There is nothing we can confirm.'
