Next Securities said on the 11th that it has secured a strategic investment of 15 billion won from the U.S. brokerage firm Interactive Brokers. This marks the first case of a domestic securities firm attracting investment from an overseas listed securities firm.

As a result of this investment, Interactive Brokers acquired equity in Next Securities. Following the investment, Next Securities was valued at approximately 150 billion won ($99 million).

Next Securities plans to accelerate the development of a new platform based on artificial intelligence (AI) through this investment. Specifically, it aims to build a financial platform (mobile trading system) that provides customized investment experiences based on AI, as well as an AI content platform to create an environment in which customers can invest more easily and conveniently.
