The Korea Deloitte Group announced on 4th that the awarding ceremony for the '2025 Korea Accounting Association Deloitte Anjin Academic Award,' which is organized by the Korea Accounting Association and sponsored by Deloitte Anjin Accounting Corporation, took place at its headquarters on Feb. 28. This award is selected according to the internal regulations of the Korea Accounting Association, and the selected professors' activity period is one year.
The Anjin Academic Award Honors Award was given to Professor Kyung-Kyung Kang of Sogang University. This award is presented to mid-career scholars whose research achievements in the fields of 'ensuring accounting transparency' or 'advancing corporate governance' are outstanding and who are expected to contribute to the development of the field in the future.
Professor Kang has been a faculty member at Sogang University since 2014, publishing numerous papers in reputable domestic and international journals related to corporate governance, corporate disclosure, and the quality of accounting information. Professor Kang currently serves as the Vice President for International Cooperation of the Korea Accounting Association, contributing to the activation of international academic discussions, and performs evaluations related to accounting and governance at major institutions including the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Financial Supervisory Service, bridging academia and practice.
The Anjin Academic Award Emerging Scholar Award was given to Professor Tae-Jin Jung of Hanyang University. This award is presented to emerging scholars who have shown significant achievements in the recently relevant fields of 'ensuring accounting transparency' or 'advancing corporate governance' and who are expected to contribute to the development of these fields in the future.
Professor Jung is particularly distinguished in the areas of corporate governance, tax avoidance, internal accounting controls, and auditing. As a certified public accountant, Professor Jung gained practical experience at Deloitte Anjin Accounting Corporation and Yulchon Law Firm, enhancing expertise in practice, and later transitioned to academia, having served as a professor of accounting at Shenzhen University in China and IE Business School in Spain before joining Hanyang University in 2024.
Professor Jung is studying corporate governance and transparency, the effects of internal accounting control systems, tax avoidance, and is contributing to the enhancement of corporate accounting transparency and auditing systems. Currently, Professor Jung serves as an editorial board member of Global Business & Finance Review and the accounting, tax, and audit research published by the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, contributing to the advancement of research in the domestic and international accounting fields and promoting academic exchanges.
Hong Jong-Sung, the managing director of the Korea Deloitte Group, noted, "The research activities of scholars play a crucial role in the advancement of the field of accounting and in improving the accounting transparency of domestic corporations," adding, "In the future, the Korea Accounting Association Deloitte Anjin Academic Award will continue to encourage researchers' academic insights and support the healthy growth of capital markets."
