Korea Investment & Securities noted on the 27th that it received the award for 'Best Syndicate House' in the Korean institutional sector at the 'APLMA Syndicated Loan Market Awards' held in Hong Kong.

The award ceremony held the previous day was organized by the Asia-Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) to revitalize the syndicated loan market in the region and was an event to select lead arrangers who demonstrated outstanding performance over the past year. A syndicated loan is a type of collective lending where multiple financial companies form a syndicate to raise large amounts of funds under the same conditions, typically conducted under the auspices of foreign banks in the international financial market.

Korea Investment & Securities proved its capability in foreign currency syndication by being the first domestic securities firm to be named in the list of awardees at this ceremony. Last year, it led the foreign currency syndication of a total of $800 million (approximately 1.15 trillion won) alone for Hyundai Capital, KB Kookmin Card, Hyundai Commercial, and topped the league table, surpassing prominent global banks.

A Korea Investment & Securities official said, 'We have achieved remarkable results in the previously foreign bank-dominated syndicated loan market by utilizing synergies with our Hong Kong subsidiary, which has its own syndicate organization,' adding, 'We plan to actively contribute to expanding the foreign currency funding sources for domestic issuers through various structured syndications.'
