The startup Bbitant, which implements virtual character generation using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, has attracted funding from domestic and international venture capital (VC) firms.

According to the VC industry on the 22nd, Mashup Ventures participated in Bbitant's seed round investment alongside Hashed, The Ventures, and Mod House, investing a total of 2 billion won. It was also confirmed that SpermiOn from the United States and Jet Venture Capital from Japan participated in this investment.

Bbitant is a startup that utilizes generative AI technology to create virtual characters and was founded by CEO Kim Kyu-tae, who has a background with KRAFTON and Unopened. The core service is Moelive, a platform designed to generate and nurture virtual characters while facilitating communication among users.

Bbitant plans to use the investment to launch the Moelive beta service in the first half of this year. Additionally, they have decided to provide a new form of entertainment experience that combines Japanese animation with Korea's K-pop culture on Moelive.

Park Eun-woo, a partner at Mashup Ventures, who led the investment, said, "Bbitant is a founding team that introduces a new paradigm in the virtual character market using AI technology," and noted, "I expect it to lead the global AI entertainment market beyond Korea."
