This year, the initial public offering (IPO) market is expected to experience a bumper crop.

On the 14th, Heungkuk Securities predicted that the number of newly listed corporations this year would be around 90. This is an increase of 16.9% compared to the 77 corporations newly listed last year, with the public offering size expected to exceed 9 trillion won.

In particular, the public offering size of 9 trillion won is estimated to be more than double compared to last year. The public offering size for newly listed corporations last year was 4.3 trillion won, an increase of 11.2% from the previous year.

Choi, a researcher at Heungkuk Securities, noted, "Following the bottom in 2022, the rebound in 2023, and the upward trend in 2024, this year is projected to be a bumper year," adding that "large-cap listings on the KOSPI are resuming."

According to Heungkuk Life, since the beginning of the year, the KOSPI has seen the approval of large-cap listings such as LG CNS after three years, along with Seoul Guarantee Insurance, DN Solutions, and Lotte Global Logistics.

The researcher Choi stated, "There are currently 55 remaining entities waiting for an IPO this year," adding that "the surge in companies withdrawing their listings, from 23 in 2023 to 49 last year, is also expected to contribute to recovery this year."
