'Men’s Life These Days: Groom’s Class' h.o.t Jang Woo Hyuk went on a blind date with 16 years his junior, 7-year actress Oh Chae Yi, born in 1994.
In the episode aired on the 30th of Channel A's variety show 'Men’s Life These Days: Groom’s Class' (hereafter 'Groom’s Class'), Jang Woo Hyuk was depicted going on a blind date introduced by Lee Da Hae. Dressed in a gentle and neat summer fashion, Jang Woo Hyuk received a phone call from Lee Da Hae in which she was earnestly advising him. Lee Da Hae said, “I want to go and introduce myself and chat a bit, but I forgot because you look young, and I think there’s quite an age gap. The water has been spilled, so I guess you’ll manage on your own. He is a dear younger sibling to me.”
At a glance, Oh Chae Yi, with her clear features and elegant presence, had known Lee Da Hae for 11 years. Jang Woo Hyuk could not take his eyes off her and showed signs of being a bit nervous.
Jang Woo Hyuk then asked, “It’s a bit rude to ask a lady her age, but since I am a bit older…” Oh Chae Yi responded, “I was born in 1994 and am a Dog in the zodiac.” She was 32 years old in Korean age, which means she was 30 to 31 by international reckoning. This posed a remarkable age difference of 16 years from Jang Woo Hyuk.
Jang Woo Hyuk remarked, “That’s quite an age difference. I am 47 years old,” and became extremely cautious, but Oh Chae Yi cheered him up by saying, “But it seems more important to focus on the person rather than age.”
