'Dreaming Youth Band' Catch The Young has vividly colored the summer seaside city of Busan.
Catch The Young (Sani, Gi-hun, Nam-hyun, Jun-yong, Jeong-mo) successfully concluded the outdoor busking performance 'Youth of Summer, Busan' at the Gwanganli Minrak Waterfront Park outdoor stage last weekend, further cementing its reputation as a 'live-specialized band.'
This performance opened with the first song 'On My Way to Meet You' that resembled the footsteps of youth. As the acoustic guitar and soft vocals blended together, capturing the audience's attention, they gracefully unfolded Catch The Young's unique narrative sound with 'Voyager' and 'Talking to Myself.' The band's arranged reinterpretation of Michael Jackson's 'Black or White' brought a familiar yet unfamiliar sound that heightened the street's energy, and the final song 'Ideal Type' perfectly colored the summer night air with its refreshing synth-rock sound.
In response to the citizens' encore requests, the members added their signature song 'Youth,' transforming the performance venue into a festive atmosphere, and the song 'Ideal Type' echoed once more with the audience's chorus.
Catch The Young smiled at the audience's voices, which were louder than the microphone, and immersed themselves in the performance while exchanging glances to the rhythm that flowed beyond the instruments. In particular, the scene from the earlier Sinchon busking where they naturally led the audience's chorus without flinching when the sound cut off has been mentioned again on this Busan stage, eliciting responses like 'That's the charm of band live.' Citizens who witnessed the event at that time expressed their feelings, saying, 'The scene of breathing with the audience and singing together is romantic,' and 'Even when it was interrupted, they didn't panic, but rather encouraged the chorus, which shows professionalism,' experiencing the essence of band live.
Throughout the performance, Catch The Young proved the power of music that connects the streets and people. By conveying different emotions and messages with each song, they also demonstrated the potential of being a 'performance-oriented band' through their solid band harmony and stage manners. Since their debut, their experience performing at college festivals, various events, and live club stages shone on the streets as well, and the members displayed a more mature demeanor while fully experiencing the charm of street performances.
Catch The Young received favorable reviews for their recently released single 'Ideal Type,' which skillfully combines retro rock riffs and synth-pop sounds into a 'youth sound.' They are accelerating their growth as a band by consecutively appearing in the lineups for major domestic festivals such as the '2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival' and the 'JUMF 2025 Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival' scheduled for August.
Meanwhile, Catch The Young plans to amplify the romance of summer with listeners through various busking performances and festival stages.
