SHINee's Key successfully hosted a housewarming eating show on Home Alone.
On the 25th, the broadcast of Home Alone (directed by Heo Hang, Kang Ji-hee, Kim Jin-kyung, Lee Kyung-eun, Moon Ki-young) showed SHINee's Key hosting a housewarming with big-eater friends Moon Se-yoon, Seo Beom-jun, and Han Hae, along with Park Ji-hyun learning acrobatics to upgrade her stage dreams of becoming the 2PM of the trot world.
According to Nielsen Korea, the household rating for the previous day's broadcast of Home Alone was 6.0% in the metropolitan area, ranking first among Friday entertainment programs. The key 2049 rating, an important indicator for advertisers and a measure of channel competitiveness, also secured first place among all Friday programs with 2.7% (metropolitan area).
The highest moment was when Key saw his friends, instead of showing them around the house, fascinated by the food he prepared, and the highest viewership rating soared to 7.1% when he felt proud to see the devastated housewarming spread (24:03).
SHINee's Key set out to clear the terrace, overgrown with weeds under the scorching sun. Wearing goggles with his red hair, he sweated profusely while still showcasing his idol visuals, prompting Park Na-rae to say, "He looks like a younger Seo Taiji from back in the day," causing laughter. When Key expressed his dream of wanting to take care of a house with a lawn, saying, "If I live in a house with a lawn, I want to cultivate it myself," Park Na-rae, an experienced groundskeeper, sympathized with him.
After finishing the trimming work, Key focused on self-care. Everyone was surprised by his statement that he does hair dyeing and hair care at home rather than sitting in a beauty salon. Unlike Choi Min-ho, who bought 'all-in-one cosmetics,' Key's use of a '4-tier cosmetic trolley' and his thorough self-care, which didn't miss anything from skin to scalp care, drew admiration.
Key then began preparing a housewarming feast for his big-eater friends Moon Se-yoon, Seo Beom-jun, and Han Hae, attracting attention by creating large quantities of food, making it hard to guess how many servings there were. In about 2 hours, he completed a Korean feast for the housewarming, including 1.8 kg of chilled pork, a pile of chamnamul acorn pancakes, herring tofu wraps, chamnamul apple salad, and fruit salad.
Moon Se-yoon exclaimed, "Did you do all of this? You made Korean food like this?" expressing admiration for Key's culinary skills, and he showcased his 'food genius' as he guessed the ingredients upon seeing the dish. Seo Beom-jun followed the combination Moon Se-yoon was eating, demonstrating surprising eating abilities. The amusing scene of Moon Se-yoon and Seo Beom-jun resembling a father and son, along with Han Hae quietly enjoying a cheat day, brought smiles.
In particular, Moon Se-yoon, who was captivated by the taste of the kimchi made by Key's mother-in-law from the refrigerator, naturally reached for rice and said, "This is all because of the kimchi," bursting into laughter. Jun Hyun-moo was surprised by their focus on 'eating' rather than the housewarming, exclaiming, "You didn't even look around the house!" After that, they seemed to set out for a house tour, but quickly gathered at the table to enjoy a dessert prepared by Seo Beom-jun, creating a burst of laughter. Key expressed gratitude towards his 'eating friends,' saying, "I like to cook and arrange everything beautifully for a housewarming because I want to share what money cannot buy."
Meanwhile, Park Ji-hyun showcased her hidden talents, surprising everyone. He, who is learning acrobatics, said, "I thought it was cool when I saw the acrobatic stage of 2PM during middle school," demonstrating his effort to become the '2PM of the trot world.' His passion for merging acrobatics with trot to show a new stage attracted attention.
Now a month into learning acrobatics, Park Ji-hyun practiced various techniques, from basic physical training to aerial rotations without using his hands. Even after falling, he would rise again as if nothing happened, repeatedly practicing rotations, burning with determination and competitive spirit, stating, "I will succeed at least once," ultimately succeeding and astonishing the members of the rainbow group. He couldn't hide his pleased smile at his performance, saying, "I look kind of cool even to myself," expressing pride by stating, "I think I will gain ten more fans if I apply this on stage."
Additionally, Park Ji-hyun headed to the market for summer replenishment. He said, "I’m thinking of making mala samgyetang by combining my favorite mala sauce with samgyetang," heading to a Chinese grocery store. There, he showcased his fluent Chinese skills, which made a translator unnecessary. He shared that he lived in China for two years during his childhood, providing insight into his time studying in China. He was chosen to represent and even delivered a speech in Chinese, interacting naturally with market vendors and pleasantly greeting mothers who recognized him, experiencing his popularity.
Confidently calling himself the 'first generation of mala tang,' Park Ji-hyun quickly finished preparing the chicken and began cooking. He miscalculated and forgot to add traditional medicinal ingredients to the samgyetang, but instead added herbal decoction to showcase his exceptional cooking sense. Completing the spicy mala-flavored dish, which he nicknamed 'Mabbak mala samgyetang' after himself, he inhaled it ecstatically, recharging his energy. Filled with energy, he boasted, "I feel like I can do anything."
Next week, Park Na-rae's appearance as she heads to Jeju Island for a wallpaper job for her 23-year-old male friend, along with the first unveiling of world-class dancer Leejung's extraordinary daily life in the 'Leejung House,' is highly anticipated.
