Actor Shim Hyung-tak revealed that none of his family members attended his wedding. He also described his wife, whom he met during a time when he was hurt by his family, as “the person who gave me a breathing apparatus.”
Shim Hyung-tak first appeared on the KBS 2TV entertainment program “The Return of Superman” together with his son Haru, which aired on the 23rd. He said, “I went to Japan for filming and met Saya. I fell in love at first sight and kept knocking on her heart until it opened. Thanks to her opening her heart, we started dating, and when I said I wanted to marry her, she consented.”
Shim Hyung-tak married Japanese woman Saya in July 2023, and he had a son named Haru in January. He said, “When I got married, weren’t the relatives supposed to come? I was alone,” adding, “No blood relatives came.”
In the past, Shim Hyung-tak entrusted his mother with managing his bank account. He had stopped his activities for two years after becoming embroiled in a major fraud lawsuit due to his mother’s reckless investments and loan guarantees. In court, Shim Hyung-tak received a not guilty verdict.
Shim Hyung-tak said, “I was hurt by my family and it was so difficult that I felt like I could die,” adding, “The one who gave me a breathing apparatus is my wife. She helped me breathe and helped me rise again.” He continued, “She gave me the gift of Haru. Now I hope we can live happily as a big family anew.”
