As rumors of a romance between Kiwoom Heroes outfielder Park Soo-jong and cheerleader Lee Joo-eun have surfaced, cheerleader legend Park Ki-ryang made a candid comment regarding relationships with players.
On the July 22 broadcast of SBS "Dolsing Fourmen," Park Ki-ryang opened up about the taboos that have been implicitly observed among cheerleaders. On that day, when Lee Sang-min asked, "Are there any taboos that cheerleaders should follow?" Park Ki-ryang began by saying, "There has been an unwritten rule among cheerleaders for a long time."
She said, "Cheerleaders are told not to meet players. When you develop a relationship with a player, there are parts that can cause damage to both parties," adding, "Especially when a player's performance is poor, there can be undue blame directed at the cheerleader. Therefore, I often advise juniors not to date."
When Kim Won-hee asked, "How do players or fans pursue cheerleaders?" Park Ki-ryang added, "Nowadays, since social media is widely used, many often approach through DM (direct messages)."
Park Ki-ryang's comments are gaining attention in connection with the ongoing rumors of a romance between Lee Joo-eun and Park Soo-jong, which have recently heated up online.
Earlier, on July 21, couple photos believed to be of Lee Joo-eun and Park Soo-jong were released on online communities and social media. In the photos, the two are seen embracing or striking heart poses, raising suspicions about their romantic relationship. In relation to this, both parties have not yet released an official statement.
Lee Joo-eun gained great popularity through her performance in the KIA Tigers cheerleading squad with her "Picky Picky Dance" and made headlines when she signed a contract with the Taiwanese professional baseball team Fubon Guardians for 10 million New Taiwan dollars (approximately 440 million won). Since April, she has been active as a cheerleader for the LG Twins.
Meanwhile, Park Soo-jong is an outfielder for the Kiwoom Heroes, having joined the team as a training player in 2022. Born in 1999, he is five years older than Lee Joo-eun.
