Singer Yves has transformed into a cat.
Yves unveiled the music video teaser for the pre-release track "White cat" from her third EP "Soft Error" through her official YouTube channel on the 21st.
The released video begins with a scene where pink gum is stuck in the center of the screen and quickly transitions to objects like a scarf and ballet shoes. The video also shows Yves being chased by a mysterious group, while she soon dances to the rhythm in time with the music, hinting at the personification of a cat and increasing curiosity about the full music video.
"White cat" depicts the figure of "me" drifting without emotional destination within an identity created to be loved, like a cat that was abandoned on the street despite having a perfect appearance. The dreamy synth sound combined with Yves' unique attractive tone expresses "calm chaos."
The third EP "Soft Error" is a new album that Yves presents approximately seven months after the deluxe version of her second EP "I Did: Bloom," released last January. "Soft Error" signifies a state that appears fine on the outside but is broken on the inside. It is expected to contain stories with Yves' unique color amidst emotional discord.
Yves has showcased her own sensory musical world based on a distinctive concept through her first EP "LOOP" and second EP "I Did." In particular, the song "DIM" from "I Did" has proved her presence as a "global artist" by topping the U.S. "Viral 50" chart for two consecutive weeks, and attention is on her growing trajectory leading to "Soft Error."
Meanwhile, Yves will release her third EP "Soft Error" on various music streaming sites at noon on August 7. Prior to that, she will pre-release the track "White cat" at noon on July 24.
