The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile provided viewers with a time machine to travel through memories.
On the 18th, KBS 2TV's music talk show The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile featured Super Junior, Sunwoo Jung-a, Paul Blanco, and Jisokuri Club, who shared stories about music through time with the theme of 'time machine.'
On this broadcast, Super Junior, celebrating their 20th anniversary, appeared as a complete group, showcasing a live performance that transcended time, breathing life into the audience with their songs from 'Miracle' to 'U,' 'SORRY SORRY,' 'Mr. Simple,' and 'Devil.'
The background of Super Junior's appearance was Ryewook's active recruiting. When Park Bo-gum expressed gratitude for their attendance at The Seasons despite their busy schedules, Ryewook revealed, "All our members are great live performers. I thought that as vocalists, they had to be on this stage, so I contacted each one individually." Park Bo-gum introduced himself as "the youngest of Super Junior" and took a spot in the center, while Kim Hee-chul jokingly pleaded, "Please come in," drawing laughter from the audience. Leeteuk remarked, "Ten years ago, we worried about whether our joints would still be okay in ten years, but now we're doing quite well," showcasing their enduring vitality.
The discussion of Super Junior's record of performing 194 shows in 30 cities worldwide was also included. Super Junior shared an incredible episode regarding their independent concert in Saudi Arabia, the first by an Asian artist: "They initially said the venue wasn't ready, so we couldn’t perform. But the concert hall was built in just one day with 200 air conditioners running," they recounted. Additionally, a song created by SM Entertainment's senior artist Kangta, 'I Know,' was also premiered on this broadcast. As the members explained they were aiming for nostalgic sentiments, Park Bo-gum confessed, "I liked the music of 'K.R.Y' because of that sentiment," prompting the members to react with, "You like an unfortunate group?"
Following her first appearance with Noh Young-sim, Sunwoo Jung-a reappeared after 18 episodes with her performance of 'Bapsae,' taking everyone on a ride in the time machine. Sunwoo Jung-a chose 'Run Away' as her favorite among the 146 songs she has released so far, to which Park Bo-gum replied, "I listened to it a lot while writing my thesis. It's a must-listen for graduate students," showing his agreement. In response, Sunwoo Jung-a explained, "It's a song I wrote after leaving home following a couple's quarrel. It can help with emotional release," sharing a candid behind-the-scenes story.
After completing the stages of 'Run Away' and 'Hug' together, Park Bo-gum surprised Sunwoo Jung-a with a bold question, "Is it okay if I hug you?" To which Sunwoo Jung-a emotionally replied, "I’m trying to live earnestly." Later, Sunwoo Jung-a picked 'Let's Not Get Close' as the song she wanted to share with Park Bo-gum, explaining the selection's reason, saying, "Being distant lets us see each other for a long time," reflecting the thoughts of an introvert. Park Bo-gum responded playfully, "That's disappointing; I thought I was your only professor..." bringing a smile to the audience.
Paul Blanco, who appeared on stage wearing a pink vest and having long hair, returned to The Seasons after two years. Reflecting on that time, he confessed, "I wanted to run away because this kind of place was scary but it was also a blessing," explaining why he returned to The Seasons. He particularly revealed that the reason he summoned significant courage was that he wanted to trigger dopamine in his mother and chose to perform Kim Jong-kook's 'Letter.' He also disclosed the reason for not being able to sing his recently released song, stating, "I have many 19+ songs among my tracks, and it's not appropriate to share those with my parents. I promise to create songs that many people can listen to in the future."
Paul Blanco, who drew attention for his surprising taste of liking pink, added, "I often hear that I resemble a bread character in real life. My real name is Hwang Shin, but my friends call me Deoksu." In response, Park Bo-gum commented, "Isn’t a name precious? I won’t call you Deoksu but Shin instead," while rallying the audience in support, chanting "Shin Ah fighting," creating a special emotional moment.
The protagonist of 'A Night of Staring at Stars' is the Jisokuri Club, which created the 'Fishing Pop' genre. They confessed their intense fan passion by saying, "We fought among ourselves about who would sit next to Park Bo-gum." Regarding their group name, they explained, "During our school years, it was trendy to add 'Kuri' behind names. We used to add 'Kuri' to my name 'Jiseok' and then blended it with a club that matched our nerdy taste."
Regarding 'Fishing Pop,' the Jisokuri Club said, "Many people refer to our music as 'Surf Rock.' We can't surf at all but we enjoy fishing and camping. It’s a genre we created by mixing our musical styles and hobbies." They also humorously noted, "Dopamine produced while fishing is said to be seven times more than that of drugs. Fishing is better than drugs," while sending out a fishing love call to Park Bo-gum. Additionally, they presented their unique musical world with stages like 'Get My Money Back,' aimed at the ten million retail investors caught in stocks.
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's music talk show The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile, which offers a musical journey that transcends time like a time machine, airs every Friday night at 11:20 p.m.
