Actors Lee Jong-won and Kim Do-yeon are considering a role in the new drama "The Flower of Moon."
On the 18th, a representative from Lee Jong-won's agency Double Black Label stated to OSEN, "'The Flower of Moon' is currently a work we are being proposed and reviewing." On the same day, a representative from Kim Do-yeon's agency Fantagio also noted to OSEN, "The role in 'The Flower of Moon' is still under consideration."
On this day, a media outlet reported that Lee Jong-won and Kim Do-yeon have been cast as male and female leads in the new drama "The Flower of Moon."
"The Flower of Moon" is a fusion historical drama that tells the story of Yang Cho-seol, a woman who makes swords in a prisoners' village, meeting Baek Je-hee, a general of a hostile country she sought asylum from. Lee Jong-won has been proposed for the role of Baek Je-hee, and Kim Do-yeon is discussing the role of Yang Cho-seol.
Lee Jong-won debuted in the 2018 web drama "Go, Back Diary" and gained significant attention through the 2022 drama "Gold Spoon." He then secured a leading male role as a partner of actress Lee Ha-nee in the drama "The Flower that Blooms at Night," which aired last year. Recently, he confirmed his role in the film "Salmon" and is drawing attention to whether he will make a comeback to drama with "The Flower of Moon."
Kim Do-yeon, a former member of the project girl group I.O.I, has drawn attention for her resemblance to actress Jun Ji-hyun and her tall stature since her debut. Thanks to this, she has actively taken on roles such as the young Jun Ji-hyun in the drama "Jirisan" and the young Lee Ha-nee in "One the Woman." If she confirms her role in "The Flower of Moon," it will mark her first attempt at a leading female role.
