Singer So Yu expressed her disappointment with the Netflix drama 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' starring IU and Park Bo Gum.
On the 16th, a segment featuring singer Sung Si Kyung, Jo Jae Seok, So Yu, and Im Seul Ong was released on the YouTube channel run by Sung Si Kyung.
That day, while Sung Si Kyung was finishing the cooking, So Yu, Jo Jae Seok, and Im Seul Ong started the opening first. While drinking makgeolli, they created a cheerful atmosphere by explaining the reasons for their appearance on 'Meeting You.'
As Sung Si Kyung joined, the serious talk began. They mentioned their respective hometowns. So Yu said, "I am from Jeju. But when I say I'm from Jeju, people say, 'If you came to Seoul at 8 years old, you're not really from Jeju.' Think as you will. I was born in Jeju."
In response, Sung Si Kyung positively noted, "If you were there until you were 8, you are from Jeju," and So Yu declared, "Then I will consider myself to be from Jeju." Sung Si Kyung asked So Yu if she could speak Jeju dialect and inquired about her thoughts on the Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'
So Yu firmly stated, "But I was a bit disappointed," and Sung Si Kyung interrupted, saying, "Let's edit that." Not just Sung Si Kyung, but Im Seul Ong also sensed the danger and suggested editing to So Yu, drawing laughter.
So Yu explained her reason for disappointment, saying, "Because... there’s a reason. Since I'm from Jeju. Please listen to the Korean until the end. So I thought there would be a lot of dialect. But when I watched 'Our Blues,' it was so funny that people couldn't understand. I wanted to interpret it from the side, saying, 'You don't know what I'm saying?' and explain it, but surprisingly, there wasn't much dialect." She quickly added, "But I watched it very entertainingly," smoothing over the situation.
