Seohyun and Ok Taecyeon's deviation romance finally comes to an end.
KBS2's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' (written by Jeon Seon-young, directed by Lee Woong-hee and Kang Soo-yeon) is about to air its last episode on the 17th, evoking both laughter and tears, with the 'First Night' cast of Seohyun (as Cha Seon-taek), Ok Taecyeon (as Ibeon), Kwon Han-sol (as Jo Eun-ae), Seo Beom-jun (as Jeong Soo-gyeom), and Ji Hye-won (as Do Hwa-seon) eliciting both nostalgia and anticipation in their final remarks to the audience.
"Playing the character of Seon-taek allowed me to realize new emotions and values through her wounds, pains, and love, and it was a valuable experience that made me reflect on myself," Seohyun noted, her meaningful remarks resonating deeply. "I believe that everyone thinks of themselves as the protagonist of their own life. Even if we go through numerous trials and errors like Cha Seon-taek, I think we will ultimately face the fact that we were the protagonists all along. Thank you for sharing a precious part of your life with this drama. I will be cheering for your lives."
Ok Taecyeon, who faced many challenges while portraying this character, said, "We started filming last autumn and wrapped up in the cold winter. I am grateful to the director, writer, and all the production crew and staff who worked together, as well as my fellow actors, both senior and junior. I was happy to be a part of it, and I'm glad to show you the growth as an actor. With the love and support from many people, I want to portray a better version of myself in the next project and show some more development."
Kwon Han-sol also expressed her gratitude, stating, "I am thankful that our drama, which was shot with the utmost joy and happiness, was completed thanks to the affection of our viewers." She added, "I will cheer with a joyful heart, praying that everyone lives a beautiful life as the protagonist in their own stories. I will also strive to show my growth so that we can meet again with a good image."
Seo Beom-jun's heartfelt sentiment, saying that he met the character Jeong Soo-gyeom in the cold winter and is now bidding farewell in the hot summer, added a warm touch. He highlighted the message in the drama that "we could grow because we had the courage not to give up," and expressed, "I hope we can all write our happy stories, not giving up on anything, just like the characters in the drama."
Lastly, Ji Hye-won said, "I am grateful for meeting such a cheerful drama and the character Do Hwa-seon, both during filming and even now while it is airing. Thanks to our viewers who enjoy watching our drama every Wednesday and Thursday, I have been having happy days lately. Please continue to enjoy until the very end."
As much as the affectionate greetings from the cast, interest in the final story of 'The First Night With the Duke' is also growing. Viewers are bursting with curiosity about whether Cha Seon-taek (Seohyun), who finds an opportunity to rewrite her destiny at a critical moment, can escape the clutches of Lee Gyu (Lee Tae-sun) and complete the romance with Kim Ibeon (Ok Taecyeon) and achieve a happy ending.
The last chapter of the tenacious minor character trying to become the true protagonist of her life and the straightforward male lead will air in the final episode of KBS2's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' on the night of the 17th at 9:50 p.m.
