NEW members Ko Kyung-pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin-goo step into the world of The Great Escape for the first time, bringing a new breeze to the program.
Tving original The Great Escape: The Story returns with a different scale, a dense worldview, and an added storyline, making it a suspense adventure. Ahead of its premiere on July 23, Ko Kyung-pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin-goo are raising expectations by sharing their honest experiences of The Great Escape.
Ko Kyung-pyo first said, “I was a fan of The Great Escape, and now I’ve become a player. I really felt and enjoyed The Great Escape as it is,” expressing his thoughts on joining as a new member. Baekhyun noted, “I think everyone will look forward to this season as much as the happiness and fun that The Great Escape has brought in the past. I will do my best to bring joy to meet those expectations,” showing his determination, while Yeo Jin-goo also expressed his love for The Great Escape, saying, “The journey to the shoot felt exciting like a school trip. As both a viewer and a participant, I immersed myself more and got involved.”
Continuing, with veteran members Kang Ho-dong, Kim Dong-hyun, and Yoo Byung-jae, they discussed their preparation methods ahead of filming for The Great Escape. Baekhyun revealed, “To avoid being a cause of trouble for the fame, I not only binge-watched all previous seasons but also practiced by going to an escape room café.”
Ko Kyung-pyo also shared, “I watched every season and made a resolution of not running away from what I can do,” while Yeo Jin-goo stated, “I believe that solving problems or engaging in investigative parts can be accomplished through teamwork and trust with the members rather than alone,” emphasizing that he values teamwork the most.
As I listened to the preparation processes of the three members, I became even more curious about how the chemistry among the six escapers will unfold. Ko Kyung-pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin-goo all chimed in saying, “It was good,” adding to the intrigue.
First, giving a teamwork score of 100, Ko Kyung-pyo recalled, “Everyone showed determination and perseverance to complete a mission until the end,” saying, “It was impressive to see everyone coming together without anyone missing.”
In this context, Baekhyun explained, “I felt that the members trusted each other a lot. The phrases ‘I will try this’ and ‘You should try that’ can only be said when there is mutual trust,” mentioning that it was an atmosphere of prioritizing cooperation and sacrificing for the greater good rather than seeking the spotlight.
Ultimately, Yeo Jin-goo responded with an unexpected answer when asked to pick the best moment, saying, “It was when we faced difficult obstacles.” He continued, “I was extremely happy when we managed to overcome it by relying on each other, and I felt our team was really great,” hinting at the synergy among the six escapers.
Meanwhile, Tving is preparing for the atmosphere of The Great Escape: The Story, which is set to premiere on the 23rd at 8 p.m. To help revisit the world of The Great Escape, all episodes from seasons 1 to 4 will be provided for free until midnight on the 22nd.
