MBC Every1's entertainment program 'Great Guide 2' ended with its 14th episode, which aired on the 15th. 'Great Guide' is a travel reality program featuring Koreans residing abroad as guides, revealing local spots known only to locals to travelers visiting their homeland. In this season 2, original members comedian Park Myung-soo and broadcaster Kim Dae-ho, along with actor Choi Daniel and singer Lee Mu-jin, showcased their talents while traversing Rwanda in Africa and Jordan in West Asia. Accordingly, a conversation was held with producer Woo Tak-woo, who directed 'Great Guide 2,' about the program.
'Great Guide 2', which recorded viewer ratings around 1% and ranked first in popularity during the same time slot, has now been confirmed for the production of season 3. Will we continue to see Park Myung-soo, Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, and Lee Mu-jin from season 1 in season 3?
Producer Woo Tak-woo stated, "The chemistry among the members in this season 2 was so good that not only our production team but all the participants want to be together again for the next season." He noted, "Fortunately, all the members have expressed that our program is their top priority, which is reassuring, and I want to be together for a long time." He emphasized, "All of them are currently very active in their respective fields, so time constraints are difficult, but everyone shares the desire to reunite and set off together."
The arduous journey that crosses continents rather than just one country or region is also a charm unique to the 'Great Guide' series. In this regard, producer Woo Tak-woo confidently stated, "The common point among the countries chosen in season 2 is that there are no separate 'guidebooks' in Korea for them." He said, "The goal was for 'Great Guide 2' to become another guidebook and provide viewers with new travel options," adding, "There are many unfamiliar cultures even within the continent of Asia, which we are so accustomed to, and I want to present astonishing places in the next season."
So, will there be new challenges and changes in concept? Producer Woo Tak-woo expressed, "The charm of 'Great Guide 2' was the venture into unfamiliar travel destinations, so we are preparing for the new season in completely unexpected places." He added, "We are also curious about how the members will create their unique travel experiences within that context. It seems that the interactions of the characters shown in season 2 will be a point of interest to watch. You can look forward to it," he confidently remarked.
