Amid a happening related to the festival invitation for Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, trot singer Kim Taeyeon, who received the actual invitation, decided not to perform on the festival stage. This is the agency's response to protect the minor artist.
On the 16th, the agency K-Tigers Entertainment issued a statement saying, "Recently, we received an invitation request for Kim Taeyeon from the Jangsu County Office for the regional festival through an officially commissioned agency. Because this was a negotiation through formal channels, we confirmed the invitation."
K-Tigers stated, "We learned that a photo of an unrelated artist with the same name was posted in promotional materials (posters) for the event. However, afterwards, the Jangsu County Office attempted to invite another artist but failed, and also we received a denial regarding Kim Taeyeon's appearance. We express our strong regret regarding this."
The agency stated, "Kim Taeyeon experienced great confusion and hurt from this incident. It is very unfortunate and regrettable that she became embroiled in such a bewildering and irresponsible situation while she is in the midst of proving herself seriously on stage. Consequently, we prioritized Kim Taeyeon's mental stability. Thus, we deemed this situation, regardless of the facts, as unrelated to our agency and decided not to be involved in the related event," indicating that they have withdrawn from the festival.
Subsequently, the agency emphasized, "In the future, we will do our best to ensure that artist Kim Taeyeon can continue her activities in a healthy environment," and added, "We sincerely apologize for the confusion caused and urge the hosting side to respond more prudently to prevent similar cases from occurring again."
Earlier, the 'Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival' drew attention when a poster including Girls' Generation's Taeyeon in the festival lineup was released. However, this was not true. Taeyeon's side claimed they had not even received an invitation, and it was actually the trot singer Kim Taeyeon, who had participated in 'Miss Trot 2' as a traditional music prodigy, who was scheduled to appear. However, even after both sides' agencies clarified their positions, they maintained their stance that "Girls' Generation's Taeyeon is the right invitation," leading to controversy.
Additionally, the statement left by the Jangsu County Office through social media only contained information about the failed invitation for Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and remained silent regarding trot singer Kim Taeyeon's appearance. As a result, K-Tigers Entertainment withdrew from attending the festival to protect the minor artist and expressed strong regret.
Meanwhile, Kim Taeyeon, born in 2012, is currently 13 years old and gained recognition as a traditional music prodigy starting in 2016. She participated in 'Miss Trot 2' and finished in fourth place, subsequently alternating her activities between traditional music and trot. In April, she released her first full-length album 'Excitement.'
