HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE has once again made its mark in the upper ranks of the U.S. Billboard main chart.
According to the latest U.S. Billboard chart released on July 15 (local time), KATSEYE's second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' has secured the 15th position on the main album chart 'Billboard 200'. This is a remarkable achievement following last week's first entry at 4th place, setting a new team record. It has consistently ranked 2nd on the 'Top Album Sales' and 'Top Current Album Sales' charts, the same as the previous week.
'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' track 'Gabriela' ranked 95th on the Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100', marking its third consecutive week on the chart. Previously, this song had reached 87th on the 'Hot 100' chart (as of July 12), surpassing the peak ranking of its hit song 'Gnarly'.
The popularity of 'Gnarly', which was released nearly two months and a half ago, remains strong. 'Gabriela' entered the Billboard 'Global 200' at 39th, while 'Gnarly' ranked 72nd, both making simultaneous entries. 'Gabriela' has charted for three consecutive weeks, while 'Gnarly' has been on the chart for ten weeks.
'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' is an album where KATSEYE expresses the beautiful chaos they face as they push boundaries as artists, presented through their unique perspective and emotions. It includes five tracks, such as 'Gnarly', 'Gabriela', and the title track 'Gameboy', 'Mean Girls', and 'M.I.A', all of which are well-received.
In particular, the six members (Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, Yoonchae) are exerting even greater impact through their performances. KATSEYE garnered attention by showcasing a dynamic performance during their appearance on a South Korean music program right after the release of 'Gnarly'. 'Gabriela' has taken the baton. The performance video for 'Gabriela', released on the 10th, reached the top of the 'Music Video Trending Worldwide' chart that day and ranked first among trending videos in 12 countries/regions, including the U.S., Canada, Chile, Colombia, and Paraguay.
KATSEYE is a six-member girl group that was born through the global audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy', jointly planned by HYBE and Geffen Records. It is regarded as a representative success case of transplanting the 'K-Pop production system' led by HYBE's Chairman Bang Si-hyuk to the U.S. market.
Within just a year of their debut, KATSEYE has achieved remarkable results, including entering the top 5 of the U.S. 'Billboard 200', charting two songs on the 'Hot 100', breaking into the U.K. Official Chart, and confirming a tour across 13 cities in North America, establishing themselves as the 'next-generation pop icons'.
