Singer Shinji has candidly shared her thoughts on romance and the behind-the-scenes of her upcoming marriage to younger fellow singer Moonwon, along with recent controversies.
On the 15th, in the SBS entertainment show 'Dolsing Fourmen', Shinji opened up about her conversations with her fiancé Moonwon. After announcing her marriage news during a wedding photoshoot on the 23rd of last month, Shinji said about Moonwon, "He is 7 years younger, but rather feels like an older brother. I am not mature enough," revealing affectionate laughter.
Shinji said, "As a senior, my boyfriend called me 'senior.' So, people around us couldn't imagine we were dating," explaining the reason for their secret relationship. She also mentioned a charming moment, "Every morning, he sets the table like an emperor. He cooks really well and does all the washing up. I don't lift a finger," sparking laughter.
When asked who suggested marriage first, she replied, "The person who will be my husband suggested it first, and I immediately accepted," adding, "Kim Jong-min advised, 'You must always yield to Shinji.' But in reality, I am not dominant over men," eliciting more laughter. However, she noted that there has yet to be a formal proposal. Shinji revealed, "We've discussed everything about marriage, but there hasn't been a formal proposal. I don't think it's necessary." At that moment, Tak Jae-hoon, who had been interjecting, said, "I want to hear that it was a happening," which prompted Shinji to respond, "Kim Jong-min said the same thing," causing laughter.
When asked what prompted her decision to marry, Shinji said, "There wasn't any special reason. As we met, I naturally thought I would marry this person. Before I knew it, I was preparing for marriage. That felt the most natural and good."
However, controversies surrounding Shinji's marriage are still ongoing. During a meeting with the members of Koyote revealed in YouTube content, her fiancé Moonwon confessed to having been divorced and having a daughter, raising fans' concerns. Subsequently, criticisms also emerged regarding Shinji's attitude towards member Kim Jong-min and Baekga and suspicions about Moonwon's past personal life piled up, leading to sentiments of "the entire nation opposes the marriage."
In response, Moonwon stated, "Most of it is not true," while Shinji also conveyed, "Our agency has confirmed all the allegations, and they were not true. I understand the concerns of everyone who has shown worry. I will be more vigilant and thoughtful going forward."
Amid the noise, Shinji cautiously conveyed her genuine feelings about marriage, where love and responsibility naturally intertwined at the end.
