The police have ruled 'no charges' regarding the embezzlement allegations filed against former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin by HYBE. In response, HYBE has stated that it will file an immediate objection.
On the 15th, Min Hee-jin's side released an official statement, saying, "In April of last year, HYBE filed embezzlement charges against former CEO Min Hee-jin. After more than a year of police investigation, the illegality of Min's actions has not been recognized, and today it has been confirmed by the police that both cases filed by HYBE have been ruled 'no charges.'"
In relation to this, HYBE also issued a statement, saying, "We plan to file an objection with the prosecution today regarding the unprosecuted embezzlement case raised against former CEO Min Hee-jin and others last year."
HYBE stated, "Following the police investigation, new circumstances have arisen, such as the announcement of termination of contracts by NewJeans members, and numerous new evidences have been submitted in related trials. Based on this, the court has made a very serious judgment regarding Min's actions." They also added, "The appellate court (Seoul High Court) judged that Min is 'intentionally destroying the structure that serves as the premise of the exclusive contract,' and we wish to contest the unprosecuted decision in the objection process."
Furthermore, HYBE mentioned, "Additionally, regarding the report filed by former CEO Min Hee-jin and others in July of last year against five HYBE executives for obstruction of business and violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation), the investigating authorities ruled 'no charges.' The investigation authorities stated that HYBE's claims 'are difficult to see as false information,' that 'it pertains to a matter of public interest, so the intention to defame is not recognized,' and that 'the KakaoTalk conversations were obtained through lawful authority during the audit process.'"
Lastly, HYBE said, "We inform you that all cases reported indiscriminately by Min Hee-jin's side against HYBE and its affiliated company employees have also concluded with 'no charges,' citing: ▲ Min Hee-jin's report against the Belift Lab executives and creative directors for defamation and false accusations; ▲ Timberz’s report against Belift Lab executives for violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation); and ▲ Shin Woo-seok, head of the Dolphin Kidnapping Group, reported the current ADOR management for violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation), all resulting in no charges or being dismissed."
Meanwhile, HYBE began an emergency audit after concluding that former CEO Min Hee-jin attempted to seize control of ADOR and its girl group NewJeans in April of last year, subsequently filing police charges alleging embezzlement.
In response, former CEO Min Hee-jin held a press conference to deny the allegations of attempting to seize management and NewJeans. She acknowledged having a sense of resistance towards the management style of the major shareholder, HYBE, and discussed it with ADOR's vice president and others, but claimed that she never took any concrete action.
