ENA and TEO are presenting an expanded version of the "Salondrip" universe. Producer Lee Tae-kyung of "Nolto" and Key have reunited.
The new ENA entertainment show "Salondodol: You Talk Too Much" (directed by Lee Tae-kyung, written by Jo Mi-hyun, produced by TEO), which will premiere on July 25 (Friday), is a talk show where idol seniors and juniors come together to engage in fierce debates over trivial matters. It can be regarded as an expanded version of TEO's popular content "Salondrip." Lee Tae-kyung, who played a key role in the early days of "Salondrip" and participated in "Amazing Saturday," "Hyemiryeochaepa," and "My Name is Gabriel," has joined as the main director, raising expectations.
As MCs, Key of the group SHINee and Lee Chang-sub of BTOB have been named, adding to the anticipation. The two, representing senior idols in the entertainment industry, will engage in sharp verbal battles over various topics with K-POP idol junior guests. Although the topics are trivial, the unpredictable discussions among idol stars in extreme choices are set to be a fun point unique to "Salondodol," signaling the birth of another cooking friend entertainment show.
Key of SHINee, now in his 18th year since debut, is a representative entertainment idol who shows remarkable activity across entertainment and music stages, from "Amazing Saturday" to "Home Alone." As someone who thoroughly understands the workings of idols, his characteristic sharp logic raises expectations for the discussions and performances he will showcase in "Salondodol." The reunion with director Lee Tae-kyung, who showcased peak chemistry in "Amazing Saturday," is also a highly anticipated point.
Lee Chang-sub of BTOB has rapidly established himself as a gem of entertainment by showcasing unpredictable ad-libs and witty speech through the YouTube content "Former Offender: The Man Who Changes His Mind Daily." In "Salondodol," he is expected to present an ideal back-and-forth with his close friend Key, as he embodies a character known as "Asura" that balances shyness and playfulness.
"Salondodol" is a prequel content that will heat things up outdoors before kicking off the main journey in the studio with a variety of guests. The prequel content will feature main MCs Key and Lee Chang-sub, along with Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, who brings her candid and straightforward charm as a guest MC. Together, the three will engage in fierce debates over various choices, officially opening the doors to "Salondodol."
The first teaser video, released alongside the lineup, features Key, Lee Chang-sub, and Hyoyeon engaged in nonstop discussions from morning till night, drawing attention. Topics like "What’s worse than your memory getting fuzzy?" and "Is a four-cut photo with a friend of the opposite sex allowable?" heighten curiosity with the relentless storytelling parade from the three. Following Hyoyeon’s reprimand, "Are you even in your right mind?," Lee Chang-sub unearths a legendary experience, saying, "I had a video call with my ex after my memory got fuzzy."
The trio's continuous talk during cooking or even while dining reveals the identity of "Salondodol," promising unpredictable laughter. Eventually, Lee Chang-sub questions the production team, asking, "I’m curious, how many questions do you have prepared for today?" To this, Hyoyeon responds in exasperation, "Fifteen thousand," bringing chaos to the scene. The expectation is rising for what stories the talkative trio will share through "Salondodol" with the premiere approaching.
ENA's new entertainment show "Salondodol: You Talk Too Much" will air its first episode on July 25 (Friday) and continue to broadcast every Friday.
