"I did not attend, but there is no discord."
Comedian Park Na-rae, who was unable to attend her close friend Kim Ji-min's wedding, is attracting attention for her considerate gesture in preventing misunderstandings.
The representative couple of the comedy world, Kim Jun-ho and Kim Ji-min, held a grand private wedding on the 13th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas hotel in Gangnam, Seoul, with about 1,200 guests. Stars from the broadcasting industry, including Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Young-ja, Park Sung-kwang, Song Eun-i, and Ahn Young-mi, also attended to bless the couple's future.
However, there was one name that stood out for its absence on the guest list: Park Na-rae, who is known to be a close friend and also a fellow graduate of the KBS 21st class. Particularly, since she was unable to participate in the previously conducted wedding photo shoot, rumors of a possible "discord" between the two arose in online communities.
However, these rumors were unfounded. The reason Park Na-rae did not attend the photo shoot was clear. She experienced an incident in which a high-end handbag worth tens of millions of won was stolen from her home. She realized on the day of the shoot that the handbag, which was prepared as a prop for Kim Ji-min, had disappeared, and she subsequently fell into shock, canceling her schedules, including radio shows, and expressing her emotional distress. The actual perpetrator was later arrested on charges of theft.
Despite this situation, Park Na-rae informed Kim Ji-min of the circumstances and reportedly did not attend the wedding due to personal scheduling conflicts. Instead, she sent a generous monetary gift in advance to convey her feelings. Kim Ji-min had also previously mentioned the possibility of her absence on a radio show, saying, "The person who was supposed to receive the bouquet was Park Na-rae, but she is too busy," implying that there were no issues between the two.
Kim Ji-min's bouquet was received by Han Yoon-seo, a junior in the same agency, instead of Park Na-rae. Han Yoon-seo said, "I have no plans to get married at all, but since there was no one around who did not attend, I ended up receiving the bouquet," adding with a laugh, "I hope the superstition that if you don't get married within six months, you won’t ever get married, is not true..."
