Group MONSTA X's Kihyun has proven the title of 'special youngest.'
On the 14th, Kihyun appeared on 'Understanding Student's Unnamed' (hereinafter 'Ryu Nam Saeng') aired on E Channel, showcasing his 'study abroad recipe' from his final culinary study location in Sicily, Italy.
The night before making the 'study abroad recipe,' Kihyun exercised with Ryu Su-young and Yoon Kyung-ho, getting in the mood. During this, Kihyun's songs 'Youth' and 'Bad Liar' played, and he proudly said, "This is my song," revealing his 'youngest charm.' In response, the two said, "Kihyun was the vocalist; Kihyun is the main vocalist," creating a warm atmosphere.
The next day, Kihyun headed to Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano, to participate in a special outdoor class. He started making granita resembling slush from Etna's snow, and upon tasting it, he was amazed and showed his love for desserts by not leaving a single drop.
Afterward, Kihyun visited a local Sicilian master to actively experience local cuisine. Focused on eating Sicilian meatballs, Kihyun expressed, "The harmony with pickled tomatoes is so good; it feels like eating sweet and sour pork without the batter with pickled radishes," gaining empathy with his familiar taste description. Moreover, when the master cut the meat, he noted, "I observed it and tried it in aglio e olio," showcasing his knowledge of unfamiliar local ingredients, impressing his seniors.
Sampling local cuisine and taking thorough notes, Kihyun returned to his accommodation and began making 'meat sweet and sour,' which he decided as his 'study abroad recipe.' He demonstrated top-notch cooking skills, measuring ingredients precisely, adding cheese for umami flavor, and using relatively milder red onions, adding Kihyun's unique 'kick' by incorporating pine nuts as a 'nut lover.' Additionally, he actively asked Ryu Su-young questions, completing an even more perfect 'meat sweet and sour.' Ryu Su-young especially praised Kihyun's special sauce, saying, "The smell is unbelievable right now. It's a special dish."
Finally, after tasting Kihyun's 'meat sweet and sour,' Ryu Su-young and Yoon Kyung-ho were impressed by Kihyun's cooking, and Kihyun's lively expression in response to his seniors' reactions brought smiles.
